MesoCoat Inc. hires Mr. Curtis Glasgow as the Business Unit Manager for its PComP product line

MesoCoat Inc. hired Mr. Curtis Glasgow as the Business Unit Manager to accelerate the commercialization of its PComP product line. Curtis would be responsible for the overall management of PComP’s which caters specifically to the thermal spray field. Curtis brings with him over 20 years of solid experience in multiple functions of the thermal spray industry.
Curtis P Glasgow, General Manager, has been working in the thermal spray field for over 20 years. Recently, Mr. Glasgow has been working for Deloro Stellite leading a startup venture in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This $2.5M startup was dedicated to thermal spray coating and finishing of aerospace landing gear. In less than 18 months, the facility grew from an empty warehouse to a fully functional thermal spray facility with 3 customer approvals, AS9100 certification, multiple NADCAP accreditations and $1.2M sales. Prior to Deloro Stellite Mr. Glasgow worked for Praxair Surface Technologies, Inc (formerly Union Carbide Coatings Services). He held many positions with PST including, process engineer, project engineer, quality manager, plant manager and R&D manager. He was instrumental in growing the Chicago facility from $3.6M up to $11M in sales through new product, process and customer development. Mr. Glasgow has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. Curtis is a 6-Sigma Green Belt and ASQ Certified Quality Manager.
MesoCoat Inc was founded in 2007 with the sole goal of becoming the dominant force in nanocomposite cermet and high power density powder coating metal finishing technologies worldwide. The core technologies acquired for MesoCoat’s start-up phase includes over $13.5M in sunk R&D and product development costs, as well as over $11M in investment/proof of concept development and testing at DOE National labs for the plasma arc lamp powder coating application technology. The company owns exclusive rights to engineered nanocomposite coating structures and the multiple R&D100 award-winning high power density powder coating application technology, and has established an IP baseline for the combination of nanoengineered cermets with HDIR application process applications to enable technology commercialization. MesoCoat has operating lab scale application equipment, and closed a $1.4M seed investment round in December, 2009 which includes milestone based options for an additional $18.8M in series B and C financings. MesoCoat has an installed 50Kw arc lamp laboratory demonstration high power density coating system, and through a space act agreement with NASA Glenn Research Center, has an access agreement for a 200KW coupon scale developmental arc lamp system. MesoCoat also has fully functional thermal and plasma spray booths, a coating quality control lab including salt spray booth and universal tester, as well as G65and tabor wear testing equipment.
